Spoilers for Black Clover Chapter 344: The Paladins Have Arrived!
After a
two-week vacation, Black Clover is back and better than ever! These two weeks
have been agonizing for series fans, especially following Chapter 343's
dramatic cliffhanger. But don't worry, the series is returning, and with it,
answers to how twisted up the Land of Sun actually is!
So, without
further ado, let's dive right into today's chapter 344's spoilers and more! As
always, we've got all you need to know and more about this week's chapter right
below! Let's get this party started!
Recap of Chapter 343
Before we
get into chapter 344 spoilers, let's go over what happened in the most recent
chapter of the series, dubbed 'Black On Black.' Make sure to read the chapter
for yourself; it's available for free and officially down below!
The chapter
picks off where chapter 342 left off, with our two heroes set to engage in a
fierce battle. When Ichika activates her most powerful form, she swiftly
demonstrates how serious she is about this fight. Dark Yojutsu: Black Warrior
with a Dark Cloak! Asta quickly activates his demon union form and attempts to
separate Ichika's magic from his anti-magic.
Ichika, on
the other hand, is completely prepared for this and decides to respond with a
physical attack. Ichika, one of the odd new continent's strong warriors,
finishes this assault with a downward blow after landing the hit. The summoning
of Demon Detroyer Asta this time successfully cancels out Ichika's attack,
leaving the two still for a second. Recognizing that they are equal in terms of magic and skills,
they both agree to finish this with Zetten.
However, at the last second before the two forces collide, Ichika feints, kicking Asta in the face. Condemning Asta for attempting to use the Zetten against her. Ichika scolds the wizard while she and Asta reset, telling him he lacks resolve, conviction, and even talent. Both ready to utilize Zetten, the two rush at each other one last time, staring one other down.
The two warriors are halted once more before they can land their strikes. Ryuya's appearance this time. Ichika immediately apologizes for her conduct, which Ryuya assures her is OK. Asta, on the other hand, appears disoriented; he believed he had almost made a breakthrough with his Zetten "form" or "style" during that last exchange.
Asta remarks that with a little more practice, he will be able to fully grasp the Zetten method. However, it appears that time has run out since, as Ryuya observes with his clairvoyance, Lucius' Paladins have landed in the Land of the Sun.
Let's get straight into Chapter 344 now that we're all caught up. However, some raws for the next chapter have already been released, thus there are verified spoilers below; you have been warned.
The chapter appears to begin with a flashback of Lucius Zogratis speaking with Morris, the brains behind the Dark Triad's intentions. Reaching out to Lucius cures all of Morris' ailments, including the growth of a full arm and leg, but he doesn't stop there. Lucius has already begun to resurrect his siblings, the Dark Triad, as he promised. Lucius is effectively playing god at this point since he has a throne chair with a large cross on it and is resurrecting people.
However, it appears that Lucius has certain limitations since he tells Sister Lily that he cannot leave his throne while resurrecting his siblings. So he isn't yet all-powerful. Given that he's confined to this chair, for the time being, he sent Lily and two other paladins to the Land of Sun to straighten things out. "The future is starting to tremble, in an unfavorable way," he says. Whatever Asta has been up to in this new region is clearly working because Lucius has been made aware of its widespread existence thanks to his forethought!
Sister Lily is tasked with taking one other Paladin, Heath Grice, a resurrected Eye of the Midnight Sun member and one of Asta's initial opponents. When the two arrive at the Land of Sun, they are astounded to see an abandoned settlement with no trace of life. Perhaps Ryuya had alerted the villagers and had them moved. While flying over the town, Heath turns back and destroys what appears to be a temple or seal of some sort, releasing a mythical five-headed dragon.
As of now, it's unknown why he did this or whether he did it on purpose, but we expect to discover more once the official chapter is out. The entrance of the Ryuzen Seven coincides with the summoning of this five-headed monster! Only there are five of them... They stand on a rooftop near the invading soldiers, vowing to defeat them. Among the five is a newcomer who appears to be intriguing.
As we soon discover, the remaining two members of the Ryuzen Seven are not there since they have been sent on another mission. Asta is being trained! Asta's training will continue even when the Paladins are fighting! This time, the Ryuzen Seven has two new members. One appears to be a musclehead like Asta, proclaiming himself the strongest, while the other appears to be a quiet yet powerful type, sitting beneath a nearby tree.
Whatever the case, all of these new people look intriguing, and we're left wondering what's next for Asta and his training! In the chapter's closing panel, the muscle head Ryuzen advises Asta to brace himself since he'll be facing the strong member of the Ryuzen Seven.
Is he really the strongest, or is he faking it? Will the Ryuzen Seven triumph over two paladins and a five-headed dragon? We'll simply have to wait until next week to find out in Chapter 345!
The date of release
Chapter 344 of Black Clover is set to be released on November 27th, 2022. There have been no announced delays to the upcoming chapter as of the time of writing.
That is, the official English release of Black Clover will most likely follow the typical timeline.
