iOS 17 release on September 18th These features will not be included.

Apple's next iOS 17 release will not include all of the previously mentioned improvements right away. Although the iPhone XS and future devices will be available on September 18, several critical components, such as iOS 17.1 or 17.2, may be delayed. While Apple has been testing both internally, iOS 17.1 is expected to be released in the coming months, according to an Apple Hub post on X (previously Twitter).

The Journal app is one of the features that will not be available as part of the next software upgrade on September 18. The app's goal is to provide iPhone users with a complete platform for documenting their everyday activities and recollections. This goes beyond simple text inputs by allowing photographs, music, and audio recordings to be included. The Journal app will even give personalized recommendations based on the user's recent device actions.

Apple Music subscribers will soon be able to experience a Collaborative Playlists feature. This feature, which was not included in the September 18 update, allows multiple users to add, reorganize, and remove songs in a shared playlist collectively. It's a step towards making Apple Music more social and participatory.

The AirDrop service will also receive a functional upgrade. The content sharing through AirDrop will no longer be limited to physical proximity after the upgrade, which will be released later in 2023. Transfers may continue over the internet even if the devices are out of AirDrop range as long as both sender and receiver are enrolled into an iCloud account.

More iOS 17 enhancements are on the way.

More iOS 17 improvements will be released later in 2023. According to MacRumors, they include a catch-up arrow for group discussions in the Messages app and the option to reply to messages using any sticker via the Tapback menu.

Other features include a 'Favourite Songs' playlist in the Music app and Intelligent form identification for PDFs. According to MacRumors, Apple Fitness+ will also gain an 'Audio Focus' function, which will allow users to prioritize either the music or the trainer's voice.

In terms of sign-in conveniences, Apple ID proximity sign-in with a trusted iPhone or iPad will soon be enabled while setting up a new Apple device, according to the report.
